View Editor
What is the View Editor
The view editor is available in all listings and can be found under the Views menu. It allows the user some level of customisation on the display of the listed fields. This can be useful for job specific tasks or for use with the Export View feature.
The view editor will appear if you choose one of the following actions:
- New View
- Edit Current View
- Duplicate Current View
Editing a View
In the following example I have chosen Duplicate Current View to create a copy of the default system view for order.
View Name
You can edit this to any memorable name that you like for your needs.
Default View
If this option is ticked this view will become your new default view for the listing.
If you have copied your default this checkbox may be ticked. If you do not want this to be your new default then remember to untick it..
Choosing Fields
Using the list of fields on the left hand side of the screen you can double click a field and it will move to the list of columns on the right. You can choose fields from related tables by choosing a related table from the popup above the field list.
If you wish to remove a column simply highlight the row on the right and click the button.
Ordering Columns
You can change the order of the columns by clicking the up/down arrow to the left of the column row. In my example I have added the carrier and trackingRef fields and moved them up the list. I will edit these in the next step.
Editing Columns
You can edit the column properties by double clicking on the column in the list on the right.
Header
Edit the header to what you need it to be in the view. By default this will be the field name.
Width
By default the width will be set to 10 and %. You can set this to a value that suits the data you are displaying.
Alignment
By default the alignment will be left. You can set this to suit your needs.
